Weather and bugs are a natural part of the camping experience. Because of high river levels we do have nuisance mosquitoes. However, the Township of Langley and Metro Vancouver are taking measures to control, monitor and treat the mosquito population, when it becomes an issue.
Mosquitoes are most active at dusk and dawn. When outdoors, cover up and use insect repellent. Repellent with DEET is most effective and safe when used as directed: The percentage of DEET should not exceed 30% for adults or 10% for children. DEET should not be used for infants under 6 months of age.
For more information on insect repellents please visit Health Canada’s web page.
