On Saturday, June 1st, 2024, the Pathfinder Parksville crew participated in the 5K Foam Fest Run on Vancouver Island. This event was a fantastic team bonding experience before the busy camping season at Pathfinder Camp Resorts. More importantly, the crew raised funds for Make A Wish Canada, supporting their mission to grant wishes for kids with critical illnesses. We were proud to raise CA$436.31 for this worthy cause!
Meet Our Team
Our energetic team was led by park manager Nicole and included members Sara, Oli, Dan, Julie, Ali, and Mel. Together, they tackled foam-filled obstacles, mud pits, and water slides~
To give you an insider’s perspective, we interviewed our team member Sara:
Q: What motivated you to join the 5K Foam Fest Run?
Sara: As soon as we learned about the local 5km Foam Fest Run, we couldn’t wait to participate! The event looked incredible, and we had heard such positive feedback from the previous year. We loved the idea of coming together as a team before the start of our busy season. Plus, the opportunity to raise money for a good cause made it a no-brainer to join in.
Q: What was the most memorable part of this run?
Sara: The most memorable part of the run was the fact that we stayed together as a team for the entire event. We even held hands as we conquered the mud pit together. It looked great in the photos until we all started to fall in! The highlight of the run had to be whenever one of us slipped into the water, sank in the mud, or got lost in the foam. It just made the giggles that much louder!
Team Bonding and Charity
The 5K Foam Fest Run was the perfect opportunity for our team to bond and prepare for the upcoming camping season at Pathfinder Parksville. The shared experiences strengthened our team spirit. Supporting Make A Wish Canada and helping to grant wishes for kids with critical illnesses made the event even more rewarding.
