At Fort Camping, we believe that great experiences start with great people. That’s why we are so pleased to introduce Courtland, our new campground manager. With a remarkable background and a genuine passion for the outdoors, Courtland brings something truly special to our community. We sat down with him to ask a few questions so you can get to know the person who will be looking after your favorite camping spot in BC.
Tell us a little bit about yourself — where did you grow up, your hobby and favourite food?
“I grew up in Southern Ontario, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces at 16, and stayed in till I was 36. I am an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and my favorite food is Burgers.”
What does camping mean to you personally? Do you have a favourite camping memory or a tradition that’s close to your heart?
“Camping is life. After leaving the military my family and I become NOMADS for 4 years travelling all over the US and Canada experiencing all the different environments that North America has to offer. My fondest memory of camping is finding old ghost towns and living in them for a few days exploring them with my kids.”
What’s your number one tip for families looking to make the most out of their Fort Camping experience?
“Make sure that you get out and experience the town as well as our walking trail. To come to the fort and never go into the beautiful town of Fort Langley would be depriving yourself of the wonderful people and businesses that this small area has. Finally, say hi to your neighbour, here at the Fort we are striving to bring that community feeling back. Friendly neighbors, and kids outdoors!”

Next time you’re camping here at Fort Camping, don’t be a stranger! Say hi to Courtland — whether you want to talk camping, swap travel stories, or get his recommendation on the best burger in town, he’d love to meet you. Book your stay at Fort Camping today.
Welcome to the Fort Camping family, Courtland! 🌲
