Hi everyone, it’s Maddie from roamingoutofdoors! I just got back from an incredible glamping weekend at Pathfinder Parksville in their Englishman Suite, and I’m here to tell you all about the amazing waterfall-hopping adventure I had.
Parksville: Your Waterfall Wonderland

Waterfall #1: Englishman River Falls – Our Backyard Paradise
Right in Pathfinder’s backyard, you’ll find Englishman River Falls. This was my first stop, and it did not disappoint! The falls are absolutely majestic, with water cascading down moss-covered rocks into a crystal-clear pool. There are easy trails to explore, and the sound of the rushing water is incredibly soothing. Bonus: Pathfinder has private beach access to the Englishman River, perfect for a peaceful stroll or a refreshing dip.
Waterfall #2: Little Qualicum Falls – A Lush Canyon Escape
Next up was Little Qualicum Falls. It’s a short drive from the campground, and the hike down into the canyon is totally worth it. The falls are even more impressive than Englishman River Falls, with water tumbling down through a lush, green gorge. The air is filled with the scent of cedar and fir trees, and the views are simply breathtaking.
Waterfall #3: Nile Creek & Rosewall Creek Falls – Off-the-Beaten-Path Gems
If you’re up for a bit of an adventure, I highly recommend checking out Nile Creek Falls and Rosewall Creek Falls. These waterfalls are a bit more secluded, but they’re no less beautiful. The hikes to get there are a little more challenging, but the reward of seeing these hidden gems is worth every step.

What’s really amazing about these waterfalls is how they change with the seasons. In the spring, they’re full and powerful, while in the summer, they’re perfect for cooling off on a hot day. And in the fall, the surrounding foliage is ablaze with color, making the waterfalls even more magical.
