Halloween in August: A Family Camping Tradition at Fort Camping

Families seated on a cobweb-decorated wagon ride at the campground

From August 5 to 9, 2026, Fort Camping turned into something a little spookier, and a whole lot more fun.

Halloween in August is one of our most loved themed weekends, and it only happens right here at Fort Camping. Every year, the FFBC community transforms our group site into a full haunted house, decked out from top to bottom, and shows it off to campers all weekend long.

It’s part tradition, part community project, and entirely something you have to see to believe. It’s also a perfect example of why Fort Camping continues to be one of the best family-friendly campgrounds near Vancouver.

Why Families Love Fort Camping

Themed weekends like Halloween in August are just one piece of what makes Fort Camping special. Families keep coming back because this isn’t just a place to park an RV or pitch a tent. It’s a community.

Kids grow up here. Neighbours become friends. Traditions get passed down year after year. That’s what happens when a campground puts family fun and community spirit at the centre.

Whether you’re looking for kid-friendly camping activities, a welcoming spot for your first family camping trip, or simply a Fort Langley campground where everyone knows your name, Fort Camping is built for exactly that.

A Yearly Tradition Built by the Community

What makes Halloween in August so special isn’t just the decorations. It’s the people behind it. Every year, FFBC pours their creativity, time, and Halloween spirit into building a haunted house experience that campers look forward to all year.

FFBC, short for FrightFest British Columbia, is an annual gathering of BC’s scariest people. But don’t let the name fool you. They’re also a community of BC’s friendliest haunters and Halloween lovers, and they’re always welcoming new like-minded members. If you love Halloween, Halloween decorating, building props, work at or own a haunted house or home haunt, or anything in between, this is the group for you: join their Facebook group.

A haunted house that somehow feels like Halloween even in the middle of summer. It’s the kind of weekend that turns first-time visitors into yearly regulars, and exactly the kind of family camping memory that keeps guests coming back to Fort Camping summer after summer. We could describe it all day, but honestly, this is one of those weekends you just have to see. Without further ado, here’s a look back at Halloween in August 2026.
